Vinous Anne Krebiehl - 01 Sep 23
The 2022 Riesling Appenheim is from classified limestone-dominated Erste Lagen Eselspfad and younger vines from Grosse Lage Hundertgulden - fermented half in wood, half in stainless steel. A little yeasty funk and reduction still hover on the nose, but verve and energy already show underneath. The palate comes in with a juicy, vivid flow. A salty, cool, bright, lemony element forms along the mouth-watering edges. Stone fruit glimmers and swings along on the serene freshness that makes a sustained finish. (Bone-dry)
